Hot Aperol

Feb 9, 2026by Maxim Rosiers

Aperol doesn’t always have to be served cold.

This Hot Aperol is a warm winter aperitif that’s perfect for cold evenings, winter terraces, and end-of-year moments.

The combination of apple juice, wine and Aperol creates a smooth balance of sweet, bitter and spiced notes, while the blood orange adds aroma and visual flair.

Ingredients:

  • 50% apple juice
  • 30% white or rosé wine
  • 20% Aperol

Want it more bitter?
Replace part of the apple juice with Aperol
40% apple juice, 30% wine, 30% Aperol

 Preparation:

  1. Warm the apple juice and wine together in a pan or pot.
    Do not let it boil.
  2. Remove from the heat and add the Aperol.
  3. Stir gently and pour into heat-resistant glasses or a copper mug.
  4. Add your toppings:

Toppings:

  • cinnamon stick
  • star anise
  • slice of dried blood orange

The blood orange comes alive in the warm drink, adding extra aroma, color, and a subtle bittersweet note that pairs beautifully with the wine.
