The Story

I completely underestimated a question from a hospitality client.

Back when I was still delivering fresh fruit and vegetables, they asked me: “Can you get good dried orange slices?”

Confidently, I said: “Yes, no problem.”

Well, that turned out differently.
Everything I found was imported from far away, often burnt and/or poorly packaged, resulting in lots of broken pieces.
And with every slice I tested, flavour and aroma were missing.
That’s when I said to myself: this can be done better.

After a year of experimenting with different fruits, drying times and temperatures, I was ready to create dried fruit slices that truly complete your drinks.

Because our locally dried slices take drinks to the next level, while being more cost-effective than drying them yourself and coming in strong, resealable packaging, more and more hospitality venues began recommending them, not only to each other, but also to their suppliers.
That meant I had to find a way to scale up production.

Since I didn’t want to compromise on quality by using drying tunnels at high temperatures, I chose the human option.
We dry slowly, at low temperature, overnight.
My brother, who is on the autism spectrum, had already been helping for some time, with more patience and precision than I ever had.
So the decision was easy, to collaborate with the social enterprise WEBO at the Mechelen Fruit Auction (Mechelse Veiling).

That’s where we stand in our journey today, production, packaging and shipping all take place at WEBO, giving people with disabilities a meaningful role in this unique story.
We now craft more than 15 varieties

I’m not easily proud, but these achievements make me, secretly, quite proud:

- Rare quality thanks to slow drying at low temperatures.
- Not only beautiful, but also flavourful, thanks to the preservation of essential oils.
- 100 % natural and edible, with no preservatives, colourings or flavourings added.
- Dried flowers and botanicals of high quality added to the range.
- From A to Z made in Belgium, by people distanced from the conventional labour market.

Delivery time:

- Standard shipping via DPD:
Orders within the Benelux are delivered within 2 to 5 business days.
- Express delivery via Bpost (Belgium only):
For urgent orders from €30, you can choose Express - Bpost (small surcharge applies).
These are delivered within 1 to 2 business days.
- Other European countries:
Delivery within 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the country.

In exceptional cases, delivery may be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances.
